An art festival covering six genres: art and traditional crafts, sports, nature, food, sake, and tea
Kyushu District Transport Bureau
ONE Ariake Art Festival is an art project based in the Ariake Sea area, which connects the four prefectures of Saga, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, and Kumamoto.
The festival’s aim is to rediscover the charms and challenges of the region and connect the rich culture of Ariake with the importance of living in harmony with nature. Many of the projects are nature conservation activities focused on the Ariake Sea and creative activities for children and people with disabilities.
The festival combines the local culture of the Ariake region—the art, craftsmanship, sports, food, drinks, and tea cultivated over generations—to create new experiences and values.
Visitors can experience the region through art and crafts at the HAGAKURE - Freedom & Passion exhibition, as well as the Flowers & Vases + Sake & Sake Vessels + Art from Kyushu exhibition. The Hizen Hamashuku Autumn Kurakura Festival will also take place, with a concert at the Hizen Hamashuku pickle shop Tazo, which also incorporates art and sake.
Sport fans can check out the first international standup paddleboard (SUP) qualifying tournament and parent-child SUP tournament, which will be connected to art workshops for children and people with disabilities. A cycling event and beach cleanup are also planned.
