A Hot-Spring Town with a Long History
Overlooking the Cape Ashizuri and the spreading Pacific Ocean, Ashizuri Onsen is a scenic hot-spring destination located in the southernmost part of Shikoku. People have visited for a relaxing soak as far back as 1200 years ago, and still come to this day.
Recuperate in Radon-Containing Hot Springs
The best part about Ashizuri Onsen is the radon-containing springs gushing out from Joki-nada. This quality water is known to ease the soreness of muscles and nerves, and bathing in it is the perfect way to soothe your body after enjoying exciting dives. Each of the three hotels in the area has ocean views and open-air baths, offering blissful hot spring experiences with magical views of the setting sun and a starry sky.
How to get there
From Kochi Station, take the train to Nakamura Station (120 min), and then take a 60-minute taxi ride to Ashizuri Onsenkyo.
