A Large National Park Full of Unique Landscapes
Located in the southwest part of Shikoku, Ashizuri Uwakai National Park covers an area of 11,166 hectares stretching across the two prefectures of Kochi and Ehime. This vast park boasts a diverse array of scenic locations that give you opportunities to appreciate natural wonders. Combined with unusual rocks, rugged cliffs and lush greenery, the park's wild coastlines create various picturesque views, while the deep blue waters are so clear that they are sometimes described as making boats look as if they are flying. In the inland area, you can also explore beautiful mountains and gorges.

Ashizuri Uwakai National Park is one of the northernmost coral habitats in the world. From snorkeling and scuba diving to a ride on a glass-bottom boat and a view from an underwater observatory, you can enjoy the stunning, jewel-like waters in many different ways.
How to get there
- From Kochi Station, take the train to Nakamura Station (120 min), and then take a 40-minute taxi ride to Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park.
