The green way up Mt. Fuji
Gotemba is the green trail—the newest and least crowded route of all the trails up Mt. Fuji. The slope is gentle and made of volcanic gravel that runs up to the eighth station. The path for the ascent diverges from the one for descent at the midway point, so stay attentive and follow the green going up. On average, the ascent on Gotemba will take about eight hours, and the descent will require about four.
