A stretch of green in the heart of Sapporo
Visit Odori Park to mingle with locals picnicking out in the sun, or stroll through after a day of shopping for a relaxing afternoon walk. Lined with trees, the park has a large, fragrant rose garden on the west side, fountains throughout the middle, and interesting statues scattered around. If all that walking works up an appetite, don't miss the small stalls that sell two of Hokkaido's specialties—grilled corn on the cob and hot, buttery potatoes.

Spirited and vibrant, the Yosakoi Soran Festival kicks off summer in early June, while the open-air Odori Beer Garden (open from late-July to mid-August) wraps up the warm weather.
For those who prefer cooler weather, there are food and flower festivals in the spring and autumn months. Among the most notable is the Autumn Fest, which is the newest festival of the bunch.
