Learn about the Kuju region's distinct flora and fauna, and take a walk through the Tadewara Marsh

Experience the splendor of Aso-Kuju National Park in high-definition at the Chojabaru Visitor Center. With a UHDTV video of Kuju's four distinct seasons and large-scale satellite photographs of the region, visitors can enjoy the park from a conservationist's point of view. The center also features exhibits about local flora and fauna, and the practice of grassland burning, called noyaki in Japanese, which is conducted in March. Commentary for the exhibits is available in English, Chinese, and Korean.

The center is affiliated with the Tadewara Marsh, designated a Wetland of International Importance by the Ramsar Convention. The first floor of the Chojabaru Visitor Center connects directly to the Tadewara Marsh walking trail. A section of the trail is a wooden boardwalk, which is wheelchair accessible, while other sections of the path are forested. It takes about 45 minutes to walk the entire course.
