Information on trails and nature sightseeing spots in the Kurobe Gorge
The Keyaki-Daira Visitor Center is located deep within the Kurobe Gorge, between the Tateyama and Ushirotateyama mountain ranges.
Inside the facility, you will find information on the status of seasonal sightseeing spots, hiking trails, and the rules of Chubusangaku National Park. Hikers can look at large maps highlighted with extensive trail networks. There are photos and videos on multiple screens introducing the natural environment and scenery of Kurobe Gorge, the history of its development, and plant and animal life in the area. The exhibits are displayed in Japanese and English, and the videos are available in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean.
On the second floor, you will find a dynamic photograph exhibit featuring Kurobe Gorge's varied terrain, such as Tsurugi Falls, Jujikyo—a cross-shaped gorge—and an S-shaped gorge.
You will find many trails and inns around the visitor center with hot spring baths, and a seasonal footbath that is accessible from late spring to autumn.
