All you need to know about Ise-Shima National Park
The Yokoyama Visitor Center is located at the eastern foot of the mountain from which it takes its name, Mount Yokoyama. Stop by to learn more about the nature and the unique culture of Ise-Shima National Park. You can find out about the history of Ama (female divers) and what makes Ise Jingu so special.
A 30-minute climb from the visitor center is Yokoyama Observatory. The observatory provides excellent views of the rugged Ago Bay coastline, the many islands in the bay, and the oyster rafts used to cultivate pearls. The center is closed on Tuesdays, or on the day after if that day falls on a national holiday.
