Obtain valuable information for enjoying Joshin’etsukogen National Park and Mount Asama

The Kazawa Information Center is located west of Mount Asama, the most active volcano on the island of Honshu. The center provides valuable information for hikers, such as Mount Asama eruption warning levels and trail conditions. It also features exhibits and videos that showcase the area around Kazawa. An outdoor ramp connects the first and second floors. There are views of the surrounding area from the ramp. Outside the information center, there is a picnic area, where you can relax and eat.

The information center hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including mountain yoga and guided hikes at nearby nature spots such as the Takamine Highlands, Ikenotaira Wetlands, and the Yunomaru Highlands. The Yunomaru Highlands area, in particular, is a popular location to explore in the summer, when over 600,000 blood-red Japanese azaleas bloom.
