A friendly welcome to Tokashikijima Island
The Tokashiki Information Center, locally known as Tabi no Annainin, is the first place to stop when you land on Tokashikijima Island. It is conveniently located inside the Tokashiki Port passenger terminal. Friendly staff can provide pamphlets, maps, bus schedules and advice about what to see and do on the island. English-speaking staff are not always available, so it is advised to visit with a translator if possible.
In the passenger waiting area, you can see a 3D raised-relief map of Tokashikijima Island and displays about local animals. For a birds-eye view of Tokashiki Village, head to the nearby Minato no Mieru Oka Observatory. This hillside observatory provides an excellent introduction to Tokashikijima Island's beautiful landscapes.
