An introduction to Okunoshima Island and the Seto Inland Sea
The Okunoshima Island Visitor Center provides information about the plants and animals found on Okunoshima Island in Setonokai National Park.
The visitor center has exhibits on marine life and the animals that can be discovered along the island's walking trails. A large map depicts the Seto Inland Sea with detailed photographs and explanations about its natural history and local culture.
Events on environmental conservation and the natural surroundings of Okunoshima are held throughout the year, such as photo exhibitions of the swarms of rabbits that have made Okunoshima famous. The facility uses natural energy, including solar power, cooling tubes, and a central water recycling system.
