The National Theatre was built in 1966 to preserve and promote the ancient and traditional Japanese performing arts. Anyone interested in the performing arts will find this place fascinating.

During reconstruction, the National Theatre will continue to present its performances at other facilities.
How to Get There
The theatre is a five-minute walk from Hanzomon Station on the Hanzomon Line or an eight-minute walk from Nagatacho Station on the Yurakucho, Hanzomon, and Namboku lines.
Home of traditional Japanese performing arts
There were two stages within the National Theatre. The Large Theatre was mainly used for Kabuki, along with other performances such as Japanese dance. The Small Theatre was used for performances of various genres, such as Bunraku, Hogaku, Gagaku and folk performing arts.
